AGA honors superior professional achievement in clinical private or academic practice and in basic or clinical research with fellowship in the organization. Fellowships are awarded to members whose accomplishments and contributions demonstrate personal commitment to the field of gastroenterology.

The program recognizes both the achievements of clinical practitioners and basic or clinical researchers. Fellowship is by application only and applicants can choose to apply for fellowship in either clinical practice or in basic/clinical research.

As an AGA fellow, you will have the use of the letters “AGAF” in your professional activities. The AGA will recognize your fellowship with a recognition pin and certificate upon acceptance. During DDW®, you will be recognized with a ribbon denoting your fellowship status, and your name printed in the Recognition and Research Awards booklet.
