Clinical Practice
Dear Member of the Clinical Practice Section and interested others:
Thank you making our sessions at the 41st annual DDW® in New Orleans, LA scientifically relevant and exciting! If you have specific feedback regarding speakers sponsored by the Clinical Practice (CP) Section at DDW, please share your thoughts with us. We will do our best to consider your comments and concerns as we plan our program for next year's DDW in Chicago.
We would like to welcome the newly elected Clinical Practice Vice-Chair, David A. Katzka, MD. And the newly elected Nominating Committee Members: Brooks D. Cash, MD, AGAF; G. Richard Locke, III, MD; Paul Angulo, MD, AGAF; and Nuzhat A. Ahmad, MD. We would also like to thank Nicholas J. Shaheen, MD, MPH, AGAF for his invaluable service as Chair for the Clinical Practice Section from 2008-2010. Thank you to all those who participated in the election and voted.
Brennan Spiegel and Doug Robertson were in charge of the Clinical Practice section Program Planning Committee for DDW 2010.
This year the CP section accepted the majority of the abstracts submitted. The accepted abstracts are designated as oral or poster presentations and of distinction based on their ranking by our dedicated abstract reviewers.
We would like to thank all who provided feed-back and suggestions for this years DDW. CPS had a Clinical Symposium, Research Forum or Topic Forum in every time slot for every day at DDW. Many of our Clinical Symposia ran concurrently in the same or adjacent rooms to allow a one stop shop of important clinical topics for the busy gastroenterologist.

Section leaders will review committee membership this summer for new abstract review committees to confirm the final composition for DDW 2011 committees.
CP section members interested in serving in this capacity are encouraged to contact us and volunteer to review abstracts. You can join the CP section at any time.
We encourage you to submit your invaluable ideas about the topics and invited speakers that you would like to hear at next year's DDW. The more specific you can be, the better (title, individual talks, speakers, learning objectives). Please forward your suggestions to John Whiton, AGA Institute by July 1, 2010.
Members interested in participating in the various activities of the Section should contact us at the addresses below. We are particularly interested in increasing participation by junior investigators/clinicians and international members at this time.
If you are interested in serving as a reviewer for any of our abstract descriptors, please let us know. Please cite the abstract descriptor for which you would be interested in reviewing. Please recommend any new descriptors for abstracts.
We invite your participation and suggestions, especially concerning topics for DDW 2011 that will be held in Chicago, IL.
Thank you for your continuing strong support of the Clinical Practice Section.
Sincerely,
