Because of our donors' support, the AGA Research Foundation has had a significant impact on digestive disease research.

The AGA Research Foundation is the foundation of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), the leading professional society representing gastroenterologists and hepatologists worldwide.

The mission of the foundation is to raise funds to support young researchers in gastroenterology and hepatology.

Year in Review


This past year, AGA provided more than $2.2 million in research support.

We funded 52 awardees (20 percent of total applications).

54 percent of our diverse class of award winners are women.

AGA-funded Research Scholar Award (RSA) recipients have published 250+ publications. 90 percent of investigators who received a RSA in the past 10 years have stayed in GI research.
