Advocacy & Regulation
AGA Is Working For You In Washington
Virtually every day that Congress is in session, AGA representatives are on Capitol Hill advocating for initiatives to advance the science and practice of gastroenterology. We're taking a stand on the top issues facing GIs, including reforming the Medicare payment system, easing the regulatory burden, increasing NIH funding and eliminating colonoscopy cost sharing.

Regulatory Issues
Regulatory issues are a top priority of AGA. We work closely with government and regulatory agencies to ensure the needs of GIs are being met. AGA also works hard to ensure members are kept up-to-date on issues and activities that may directly affect their practice of medicine and care of patients.
Get Involved
AGA interacts with Congress and regulatory agencies to promote and protect the interests of GIs and their patients. We play a leadership role in forming and participating in coalitions on many issues in order to maximize our effectiveness in advocacy campaigns.
It has never been more important for GIs to take part in the legislative process on a local level. We need your help to convey AGA’s message on key public policy priorities to Congress and to establish and strengthen relationships with Congressional offices.
