AGA works as an organization, in coordination with other organizations and as a member of a number of coalitions to reach out to Capitol Hill, regulators and payors to ensure that the concerns of GIs are being heard regarding issues that affect our members. However, our impact lies in the strength of our members’ involvement. You can help advocate for quality health care for your patients and influence health-care policy by understanding policies affecting the practice and patients and becoming involved with AGA — by participating in activities or contacting your local officials.

Coalitions
The AGA is active in establishing and working vigorously in coalitions with other medical specialty, research and patient advocacy organizations. Our activities with coalitions help develop a broader constituency and enhance our clout in advocating for key public policy priorities.
Congressional Advocates Program
With the enactment of the health care reform, declining reimbursement for specialty services and growing budget deficits, the AGA needs your help to increase our voice on Capitol Hill.
