Background
In 2012, the CMS PQRS allows clinicians who treat Medicare Part B patients to submit clinical data for IBD quality measures and earn a 0.5 percent bonus. A Medicare incentive payment through PQRS can be substantial. Not submitting data can be a costly mistake.
2012 is the last year where your participation in PQRS only has a potential upside. You earn a bonus for participating and run no risk of penalty if you don't meet requirements. Starting in 2013, however, not participating in PQRS will lead to a Medicare penalty on all Part B charges in 2015 and beyond.
Learn how to participate in PQRS through the AGA Digestive Health Recognition Program™ (DHRP). Register for the complimentary webinar.
