Gastroenterology invites original research article submissions for our focused issue on the pancreas to be published in honor of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month in November 2021.

The past decade has seen important advances in our understanding of the epidemiology, clinical and genetic risk factors, and underlying biological mechanisms of pancreatic cancer. These discoveries have emphasized the need for further research to define mechanistic actions, new interventions, and advanced approaches for screening, prevention and treatment.  Although the issue’s focus will be on pancreatic cancer, other pancreas-related topics are welcome.

Gastroenterology invites you to publish your high-impact studies in this new focused issue. Research highlighting novel pathophysiologic pathways with human correlates, new discoveries related to clinical interventions, clinical trials and high-profile epidemiologic studies will be featured. These will be accompanied by insightful commentaries from leaders within these fields.

Articles will be published online within days of acceptance and will be automatically deposited in PubMed Central, where they will be fully searchable and citable. The full collection of accepted articles will be published in a widely promoted focused print issue.

Articles must be received by May 3, 2021. Original full research articles, commentaries and brief communications are welcome. If you are interested in creating a commentary on a related high-profile topic, please contact the editors with the topic area prior to submission. Standard author guidelines are available. For more information, please contact the Gastroenterology Assistant Managing Editor, Laura Flecha ([email protected]).

Submit your articles through Gastroenterology’s streamlined online submission system: www.editorialmanager.com/gastro.
