The biggest change to the evaluation and management services since their implementation in 1991 has occurred with the elimination of the consultation codes from fee-for-service Medicare payment. This change, effective for dates of service Jan. 1, 2010, and forward, has caused much concern among the GI community. To address questions regarding this major change, the AGA Institute and the Medical Group Management Association presented a Webinar on Dec. 22, 2009. If you were unable to participate and have questions or concerns regarding the consultation issue or other coding and billing changes for 2010, you can purchase a recording.
