AGA Creates New Membership Category for International GIs

December 13, 2012

AGA is dedicated to providing resources for gastroenterologists around the world. As part of this mission, an international tiered dues structure was created to give members in select countries access to full international membership benefits at a reduced rate. The only difference — members receive online-only versions of Gastroenterology and Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology instead of both print and online versions.

International corresponding member eligibility is determined using the World Bank’s country classifications, which is based on the economic status of an applicant’s country of residence. Applicants in these countries have the option to join as international members or international corresponding members. If they want to receive printed journal subscriptions, they can continue as international members, but if they would like to receive only online subscriptions they can opt for the new international corresponding member category.
