AGA Is Looking for the Best and Brightest
By Anil K. Rustgi, MD, AGAF; chair, AGA Institute Appointments Committee, and AGA Institute president-elect
AGA wants your nominations for members who you consider highly qualified to serve on our committees. Of note, self-nominations are permissible. View a list of all committees with open positions.
Committee participation offers several benefits:
- Provides networking opportunities with other physicians and scientists.
- Allows members to pursue a special interest.
- Helps members make a national impact in an area that is important to them.
- Helps advance the careers of members.
It is important to maintain a demographic balance on the committees: research versus clinical interests, academic versus private practice, HMOs, geographic balance, etc. I am also particularly interested in your recommendations of talented women and underrepresented minority members, as this is of critical importance.
To make your nominations, please visit the members-only area of the AGA website and log in. Expand “AGA Member Service,” and complete your nomination(s) by accessing the committee nomination form. Nominations must be received no later than Nov. 1, 2012.
Please do not hesitate to contact Diane Field (email@example.com) at the AGA National Office if you encounter any difficulties with the online nomination process or have any questions or suggestions.
