ICD-10 Webinar Scheduled for Dec. 13
Gastroenterology practices and ASCs must transition to the use of ICD-10 codes to report health-care diagnoses and inpatient procedures by the HHS mandated deadline of Oct. 1, 2014. To help clinicians, practice managers and coders plan ahead and make the transition as easy as possible, AGA has developed the ICD-10 Resource Center and will host several webinars. The first webinar, Impacts of ICD-10, takes place Friday, Dec. 13, at noon ET. Space is limited to 100; over eighty participants have already registered.
The webinar will go over administrative and clinical changes needed to successfully implement ICD-10. The key impacts to strategic business areas will be discussed along with steps to a successful implementation. In addition, GI clinical case examples will be used to show necessary documentation concepts. Dr. Lawrence Kosinski, chair of the AGA Institute Practice Management & Economics Committee, will moderate and Rhonda Buckhotlz, vice president of ICD-10 education and training at the American Association of Professional Coders (AAPC), will present. After participating in the webinar, attendees should be able to:
- Gauge the impact of ICD-10 on their business.
- Learn the necessary steps to successful implementation of ICD-10.
- Understand key documentation challenges.
- Recognize the new ICD-10 coding structure.
