November 08, 2012

Congratulations to AGA member Jill P. Smith, MD, who was recently recruited to a new position at NIDDK where she is the senior scientific advisor for translational and clinical research studies in digestive diseases. She was also honored with the Penn State Department of Medicine Mentoring and Educator Award. During her tenure at Penn State University, 43 graduate and post-doctoral fellows trained in her laboratory, and in the past decade alone she was the primary mentor for 10 junior faculty members. This year, the students and faculty honored her with professor emeritus status for her meritorious research in the field of gastrointestinal and liver diseases.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Smith.
