Travel Awards Available to Fellows Interested in IBD
Applications are now being accepted for the Investing in the Future: Clinical Research in IBD program. This exciting program is a must-attend for gastroenterology fellows considering a career in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) clinical research. Selected fellows will be given a travel grant to apply toward attending Digestive Disease Week® (DDW), which will take place May 18 through 21, 2013, in Orlando, FL.
The program’s goal is to foster and encourage promising fellows to pursue a clinical research career focused on IBD. Real-world guidance and expert insight on opportunities within the field will lead fellows in that direction.
Selected participants can expect to:
- Meet leaders in the field through dedicated programming and networking events.
- Meet IBD-research mentors who will provide guidance during and after DDW.
- Participate in a special agenda of relevant symposia and presentations.
- Receive complimentary registration to the AGA Spring Postgraduate Course: Putting Patients First: Actionable Evidence for Clinical Practice.
Training directors are asked to nominate GI fellows from their program whom they feel would benefit from this opportunity. Second-year fellows are strongly encouraged to apply. The deadline to apply is Friday, Jan. 25, 2013. Applicants and their training directors will be notified of their application status on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013.
Complete details about the program and a downloadable application are available on the AGA website.
This program is supported through a grant from Abbott.
