New Roundtable Builds Collaborative Relationships Between Industry and AGA Leaders

May 07, 2011

Bethesda, MD (May 7, 2011) — The American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) Research Foundation is pleased to announce the creation of the AGA Research Foundation Corporate Roundtable. Members at tiered sponsorship levels will engage in discussions regarding scientific advancements, policy, legislation and other issues and opportunities that impact the science and practice of gastroenterology and hepatology. These annual joint meetings provide a unique opportunity for interaction within the GI community and enable members to share information with each other, hear speakers address topics of common interest, discuss emerging trends and exchange views.

“Only by partnering with companies who share our commitment to the improvement of digestive health can we truly understand the state-of-the-science accomplishments that are being achieved and leverage them to better serve the gastroenterological community from the top down — policy makers, legislators, specialists, health-care providers and, ultimately, patients,” said Nicholas F. LaRusso, MD, AGAF, chair of the AGA Research Foundation. “This interaction will be invaluable to furthering the dialogue about issues important to the gastroenterological community.”

The roundtable is structured in three tiers with varying contribution levels that will support the foundation’s research endowment. AGA wishes to welcome the following 13 companies to the inaugural meeting of the AGA Research Foundation Corporate Roundtable:
