Governing Board Update: Future Leaders Program

June 29, 2015

AGA unveiled the program and its 18-member inaugural class this March.

In the July issue of Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology (CGH), the AGA Governing Board provided a strategic update on the new Future Leaders Program, which was created to identify and promote prospective leaders in the field of gastroenterology and at AGA.

The program unveiled its 18-member inaugural class this March and includes a dedicated advisory board, faculty and mentors, many of whom are current or past AGA leaders (pictured).

The goal of the program is two-fold; it strives to provide development opportunities and training for future leaders in GI, and to create a leadership pipeline of passionate and dedicated professionals for the organization and its members. It additionally supports a cornerstone of the 2015-2020 AGA Strategic Plan by focusing on the development of new leaders within the organization.

The 2015 class of future leaders will work with mentors on projects related to the organization’s strategic plan throughout the year-long program. They plan to present their projects to the AGA Leadership Cabinet this September.

To learn more about the AGA Future Leaders Program and its participants, read the full board update in CGH or visit the program’s page on gastro.org.
