With every screening test you prescribe, colonoscopy you perform and polyp you remove, we’re one step closer to reducing the deadly impact of colorectal cancer (CRC). To kick off Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, here are a collection of patient resources you can use to raise awareness of the updated screening age and help your patients understand their screening options.

All of the resources highlighted below can be emailed to your patients, posted on your practice website, included in your EMR notes, or shared on social media.

45 is the new 50

Send your patients to the newly redesigned AGA GI Patient Center to learn all about colorectal cancer. Our patient education, written using health literacy principles, covers the following topics, all written by GIs, for patients:

  • Overview of CRC
  • Who’s affected
  • Symptoms
  • Risks
  • Screening
  • Prevention

Screening options

We also have several resources to help patients decide which test is right for them:

You can also help your patients prep for their colonoscopy with the below video explaining the importance of following provided prep instructions.
