Life After Fellowship: Managing Your Wealth

Jan. 25, 2018

Two financial advisors from Morgan Stanley provide tips and strategies to help early career physicians stay “financially fit.”

Should you pay off your student loans first or max out your retirement contribution? What’s the difference between a traditional IRA and a Roth IRA? What type of insurance should you consider purchasing? Two financial advisors from Morgan Stanley helped answer these questions at a recent AGA Practice Skills Workshop. These workshops are designed to help early career GIs adjust to life after fellowship and address important questions often not covered in training programs.

The financial advisors recommend:

  • Having a process to review your personal finances every quarter.
  • Knowing the differences between investing in the past versus investing today.
  • Understanding the advantages of different types of investment accounts.

The full presentation is available as a member benefit (login required).
