Learners will be able to review the normal physiology of acid secretion in a healthy stomach and possible complications arising from an acid disease. Examples of these complications can be seen in ulcer formation due to Helicobacter pylori infection or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, stress-induced ulcer disease, peptic ulcer disease, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
