Partnering with Health Plans
The AGA currently is working with health plans across the country to design quality reporting, recognition and premium designation programs, all of which will be seamlessly integrated into the AGA Registry, enabling registry participants to automatically participate in these health plan incentive programs. The AGA Registry is uniquely positioned to work with health plans for the following reasons:
- Unlike registries that are merely process-oriented, the AGA Registry is focused on outcomes and is based on rigorously developed measures with the goal of receiving endorsement from the National Quality Forum (NQF). This better positions the AGA Registry to partner with and address the needs of health plans.
- The AGA Registry was designed by gastroenterologists, ensuring that our community of providers plays a role in determining what constitutes quality of care as it relates to these health-plan programs.
