• House Approves Repeal of SGR

  Today, the House approved H.R. 3961, the Medicare Physician Payment Reform Act, legislation that would repeal the flawed sustainable growth rate (SGR) formula and prevent the 21 percent cut from being implemented on Jan. 1, 2010. The AGA and all of organized medicine have been supportive of this legislation, and reforming the Medicare payment system has been a long-term goal of the AGA.
