Course Description
This two-day conference will examine the basic science behind the latest clinical advances in the diagnosis, management and treatment of celiac disease. Future options for treatment will also be discussed.
By attending, you will obtain extensive information on the recent science in the pathogenesis of celiac disease and how the latest scientific evidence applies to the diagnosis and management of celiac-related complications. You will also gain new insight into the role of genetics, antibody testing and small bowel pathology in diagnosing patients with celiac disease.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, attendees will:
- Learn the basic science advances in the pathogenesis of celiac disease.
- Understand the science behind the diagnosis, treatment and management of celiac-related complications.
- Recognize the role of genetics, antibody testing, and small bowel pathology in the diagnosis of celiac disease.
- Consider future strategies for the treatment of celiac disease.
Posters
All attendees are invited to present a poster. Posters can include completed or ongoing research studies and are acceptable even if they have already been or are scheduled to be presented at another meeting. Up to two travel awards will be awarded to the most outstanding trainee abstract submitted to attend the Celiac Disease meeting in Chicago, IL. The award will cover coach airfare and hotel expenses.
To submit a poster, please provide an abstract or one-page summary of your project by July 31 to jwhiton@gastro.org.
Posters submitted for consideration will be reviewed by the organizing committee and notification of acceptance will be sent by Aug. 14. Note: 2’ x 4’ poster boards will be provided.
