AGA Center for GI Innovation & Technology

The AGA Center for GI Innovation and Technology (CGIT) supports innovation and the development of new technology in gastroenterology, hepatology, nutrition and obesity by guiding medical device and therapeutics innovators through the technology development and adoption process.

Get to know the center

AGA is committed to advancing innovation in GI and putting new technology into practice. That’s why we developed the AGA Center for GI Innovation and Technology. The center is a key resource for industry and physician innovators developing new technology in GI, as well as FDA and other regulatory groups involved in the device approval and adoption process. The center’s main goal is to ensure the needs of gastroenterologists and patients are met with each new technology.

The GI Opportunity Fund is excited to announce that it has completed its first five investments. Each one of these funding recipients is developing innovative GI tech that can transform care for patients with digestive disease.

  • Virgo is an AI-fueled endoscopy capture and clinical trials program.
  • EndoSound developed a system to transform any endoscope into an EUS.
  • NeXtGen Biologics has patent-protected technology using the tissue of a salamander with regenerative abilities for a variety of clinical benefits.
  • EvoEndo has created sterile single-use, flexible endoscopes that enable unsedated endoscopic procedures.
