Early Registration Deadline for NP, PA Course Approaching

The June 8 registration deadline for AGA's popular course for GI nurse practitioners and physician assistants is just days away. There is still time to save!

Early registration for AGA's Principles of Gastroenterology for the Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant course ends June 8, 2015. The course is committed to enhancing the skill sets of nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs) by providing the latest in best practices and evidence-based medicine for addressing both common and complex GI disorders. Attendees will get in-depth information on topics such as:

  • Disease burden and current and future treatment options for viral hepatitis.
  • Evaluation and treatment for small bowel and colon disorders, including IBD, diarrheal diseases and bacterial overgrowth.
  • Utilizing non-pharmacologic and pharmacologic treatment options, including dosing and side effects, and therapies under investigation.
  • Management of various GI malignancies of the upper and lower GI tract, liver and neuroendocrine systems.

Breakout sessions on inpatient conditions and challenging cases in IBS and celiac disease will also take place on day two of the course (Saturday, Aug. 15), The free lunch session (Friday, Aug. 14) gives NPs and PAs new to GI an opportunity to network with experienced course attendees. Throughout the session, attendees will be encouraged to freely discuss successes and issues encountered while working in GI for a shared learning experience.
